PLAY
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Help Tag : play Help Keywords : PLAY, play ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLAY Command used by Bards to initiate and maintain channeled battle harmonies during combat. To play a harmony, you must be actively engaged in battle and equipped with a musical instrument in either your wield or hold slot of sufficient level (instrument level >= song level - 5). Harmonies produce continuous magical effects every combat round, such as phantom strikes, party health and mana regeneration, spell deflection, defense disruption, and party-wide buffs. Playing has a brief initiation delay of 2 beats (sub-round). Both your personal Harmony Mastery (unlocked via the Bardic Conservatory Trials) and your equipped instrument's harmony tier determine how many harmonies you can play simultaneously: Harmony (Level 8 Trial + Any Instrument): 1 active harmony Silver Harmony (Level 18 Trial + Silver/Gold Inst): 2 concurrent harmonies Golden Harmony (Level 24 Trial + Golden Inst): 3 concurrent harmonies (Once unlocked, your Harmony Mastery persists permanently across remorts!) Usage: play '<song name>' [<target>] If no target is specified, the harmony automatically targets the enemy you are fighting. Full song names or prefixes of the full name are supported (e.g., play 'hopeles', play 'group i', play 'slo'). Short prompt tags (such as gi, hr, hpl) are used with STOP or END to quickly silence a song. Active harmonies drain mana per combat round (or upon triggering). If your mana runs out or combat terminates, your active harmonies cease immediately. Played Harmonies: Level 8: Illusion [ILL] Level 13: Lifesong [LS] Level 17: Piercing Symphony [PS] Level 18: Slow [SLO] (can also be sung) Level 20: Harmonic Renewal [HR] Level 21: Magical Dissonance [MD] Level 22: Hopelessness [HPL] Level 23: Countermelody [CM] Level 28: Group Inspire [GI] (can also be sung) To end an active harmony, use STOP or END.
