MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS

Musical instruments are the signature equipment of the Bard class, channeling
both instant songs (SING) and sustained combat harmonies (PLAY) while also
serving as melee weapons with full weapon damage dice when wielded.

SLOTS & COMBAT:
  - Classic instruments (from the Bardic College or world zones) can be
    equipped in either the WIELD or HOLD slot, and deal weapon damage dice
    when wielded in combat.
  - Forged instruments are pure weapon-instruments equipped in the WIELD slot.
  - To perform a song or harmony, your equipped instrument's Instrument Level
    (Minimum Level + 5) must be at least equal to the song's level.

FORGED BARD WEAPON-INSTRUMENTS:
  Whenever a Bard receives a forged weapon drop from a monster or crafts any
  weapon slot at a hometown blacksmith (e.g., FORGE <tier> INSTRUMENT), it
  automatically rolls as a Bard-only musical instrument from a 16-instrument
  pool: lute, lyre, harp, mandolin, cittern, fiddle, theorbo, zither, flute,
  panflute, shawm, war-horn, cornet, tambourine, war-drum, or chime-staff.

HARMONY TIERS & UPGRADING:
  Every instrument has a Harmony Tier (shown on the stat line via INSPECT):
    Standard (1 song)        - Maintains 1 active battle harmony.
    Silver Harmony (2 songs) - Maintains 2 concurrent battle harmonies.
    Golden Harmony (3 songs) - Maintains 3 concurrent battle harmonies.

  Forged instruments roll their Harmony Tier based on bracket and quality
  (High, Ultra, and Endgame forged instruments of Fine+ quality have a chance
  to roll Silver or Golden Harmony, and Perfect High/Ultra/Endgame instruments
  are guaranteed Golden Harmony).

  You can also upgrade any carried instrument at Maestro Orpheon, the Master
  Musicsmith (east of the Hall of Harmonies in the Bardic Conservatory,
  room 4701):
    upgrade <instrument>
    - Standard -> Silver: Silver Harmony Varnish (#4794) +  5,000,000 gold
    - Silver   -> Golden: Golden Harmony Varnish (#4795) + 10,000,000 gold
